A little bit of stats:

5:27:00 PM

The top ten scorers of Cricket World Cup 2015. Only one out of these 10 has a chance to rise in numbers. You guessed it right. Martin Guptill has a chance on 29 March to overtake Kumar Sangakara. Otherwise the list is pretty final.
Among the top 10 scorers only Misbah-ul-Haq of Pakistan scored a lot of runs, without scoring a century. What’s the big deal? He is the only cricketer, who scored more than 5000 runs in One Day Internationals, without scoring a century.
The second most interesting entry is Chris Gayle, who despite scoring a double century, still trailed behind Misbah.

The top 10 bowlers of the tournament include no surprises, except for Umesh Yadav. The list is topped by Trent Boult and Mitchell Stark. But it’s not only them who can improve ratings by the eve of 29 March. Daniel Vettori has a good chance of jumping one slot up if he takes one wicket at least. Taking two or more he can move Yadav out of the top 3.
Wahab Riaz’s overall figures might not be so impressive, 16 wickets, but his bowling in the third quarterfinal is the only thing that will be remembered for years to come. He refreshed the memories of times, when international cricket knew real fast bowlers, like Jeff Thompson, Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Dennis Lillee and many others. I am talking about times, when bowlers had the right to bowl. They could test the batsman's resolve with good-length and short-pitched bouncers. Now this is a thing of the past. In this World Cup, Wahab Riaz had to pay a fine to be a real fast bowler. Probably the ICC officials were afraid of Australia deporting them or sending them to the refugee concentration camps. Because otherwise it was Mitchell Stark, who behaved badly, when he bowled a couple of fast deliveries to a №9 batsman (Wahab Riaz) and then taunted him. Why did they not fine Stark? Or probably I am too sensitive to discrimination, because white New Zealanders like Billy Bowden had no problem lamenting Wahab Riaz with maximum fine, but at the same time they did not see anything wrong with Stark’s behaviour. Probably they were enraged by the fact that even if they have the best pitches and best grounds, it is Pakistan which always produced top-line fast bowlers and even today we have the best bowling attack. And don’t forget the fastest ball ever in cricket history was bowled by a Pakistani.
We were deprived of the pleasure, that we could have, of watching such talented bowlers like Brett Lee, because of stupid ICC regulations.
