Russia crushed the Americans 4-0

Prague, Czech Republic – In a very interesting semi-final match of IIHF World Championship 2015 Russia over powered the Americans to book a place for Sunday’s final against the Canadians.

In an earlier semi-final match the Canadians beat host Czech team by 2-0. The Czechs had spent too much energies on their match against the Finns, so they could not put up much resistance. The score was low, but the Canadians really dominated the game.

The really interesting game was the second Semi-final in which the Russians sent the Americans packing back home with a score of 4-0. The first two periods were goalless. In the first period the Russians had 11 shots at the goal against 10 by the American. In the second period the Americans tried for 13 times to score a goal, but Russia’s invincible goal tender Sergei Bobrovski did not let them score. He was declared the best player of the match.

In the third period things stared changing as Mazyakin scored the first goal of the match, followed by another outstanding goal by Alexander Ovechkin, who just arrived in Prague yesterday to join the national team, in the 10^th minute. The third goal by Vadim Schipachyov hit hard on American hopes of playing an all North American final.

The USA trainer replaced his goal tender to send in the 6^th player 4 minutes before the end of the match. But to his misfortune this did not help team USA throw a puck through Babrovski, but gave Malkin a chance to score his 4^th goal of the tournament.

Tomorrow will be the best match of the tournament. Not because it is the final, but because it is a Canada vs Russia final. This is the epitome of hockey. This is the clash of the titans and I know this is the first opportunity for the Canadians to get a taste of defeat…

Tomorrow’s final is going to be a great game and both the teams will have fight hard to win the title. The Canadians who have not lost even a single game in this tournament, will not have a hard time swallowing the first defeat tomorrow, because they will not lose to some good team, but to the best team!!!
