Sui Southern Gas Company has won their match in the 34th U-20 National Hockey Championship

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company has won their match in the 34th U-20 National Hockey Championship at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium here on Thursday. While the opening match between ARMY and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ended in a 3-3 draw. SSGC crushed Punjab-B 9-1 in the second match. ARMY took lead in the 7th minute through a field goal by Shan Ali. Saeed Ullah of KPK leveled the score in the 18th minute. ARMY’s Ehsan Riaz scored a goal in the 44th minute. KPK bounced back and scored two goals in the last quart. Zahid Ullah successfully converted a penalty corner in the 51st minute and Amjad Rehan scored a field goal in the 53rd minute to strengthen their team’s position. ARMY’s Shan Ali’s successful conversion on a penalty corner in the 55th minute saved his team from a defeat. Three goals by Ilyas Ahmed and two goals by Adeel Latif guided SSGC to humiliate Punjab in the second match. Ilyas posted his hat-trick, all field goals, in the 14th, 20th and 40th minutes respectively. Adeel struck field goals in the 7th and 49th minutes. Sawan Bin Qamar (21st min), Mohammed Rizwan (25th min), Shahnaz in the (35th minute) and Zeeshan (58th min) scored one goal each. Usman Farooq, captain of the Punjab team, scored the only goal for his team in the 15th minute.
