Now that we've found love...What are we gonna do...With it?

3:05:00 PM

Alright, Pakistan has reached the quarterfinals. It's a pity that Ireland could not make it. Fairly speaking Ireland played throughout the tournament a lot better than a few of the test teams. But it was all decided today in #Adelaide and Napier.
#Pakistan will meet #Australia in the quarterfinals and once again at the same ground. I think Pakistan needs to keep options open for the upcoming knockout stage match.
One change they should make is to bring Younus back instead of Sohaib Maqsood. The inclusion of Haris Sohail is a positive sign. He was unlucky to be run-out, But with the ball he pocketed a wicket also. Sohaib Maqsood is a totally shaky batsman and he is a lousy fielder. It does not matter that a certain lobby is standing behind him, we cannot risk losing a good chance at reaching for the title, for the sake of one man or certain people from the Tableeghi lobby.

Sarfraz again showed his worth. A stable opening partnership with Ahmed Shahzad has proven a lot of things, including the fact that cricket is a game and it should be free of political influences.
So will Australia come to play against Pakistan on a bald wicket also? The most interesting thing is that Pakistan and Australia have the strongest pacers in the tournament. So for the sake of good game I hope they will grow some grass on that pitch.
In the match against Australia, a spinner will be a good option, but then we have Afridi and Haris, who are both dependable as spinners, offering right arm and left arm variety. So I think we should not include another spinner at the cost of a pacer. Yes if Irfan would be fit, he should most definitely replace Adil.
One thing is for sure, for the next match we will have a packed stadium and Aussie supporters will outnumber Pakistani spectators. But we should remember that it is the last World Cup for Misbah, Afridi and Younus. Afridi has served Pakistani cricket for nearly 20 years and the other two have also offered long years of their lives to Pakistani cricket. So I hope we will do our best to see them off as World Champions!
